The installation was conceived in parallel with the architectural project during the Poolbar Generator Labs in February 2026 and subsequently further developed, produced, and assembled until the festival opening on July 9.

This year’s pavilion architecture is defined by a series of folded roof structures resting on slender supports, creating the impression of floating forms above the festival grounds. The light projections respond to this architectural movement and extend it with a fleeting, constantly changing layer.

Rather than relying on digital animation, Atemraum embraces the unpredictability of mechanical processes to create a calm, breathing rhythm that evokes the movement of water. The installation makes the invisible forces of air, movement, and reflection perceptible, translating them into a poetic spatial experience. Through the interplay of light, material, and architecture, the work creates a moment of deceleration, inviting visitors to perceive their surroundings more consciously and experience the space as an evolving.
